Obituary for William A. Hagany

On Tuesday January 1, 2019 William A. Hagany, 80, passed away peacefully at his home of 50 years, in Rockaway with his loving family by his side.

Bill was born and raised in Manhattan. He attended Xavier High School in Manhattan and Fordham University in the Bronx.

Bill had a career with Citibank in New York, NY and London, England, spanning 46 years.

He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Rockaway.

He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Allison Trunz.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jean; five children: Kathleen Hagany, Jeannie (Greg) Trunz, William Hagany, Michael Hagany and Jennifer (Tom) Castello; his sister, Peggy Byrne; and nine grandchildren: Gregory, Max, Kevin and Katy Trunz, William Hagany, Doyle Hagany, and Tommy, Megan and Jessie Castello.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation/celebration of Bill’s life at the Whitham-Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave, Rockaway on Friday January 4th from 5:00-8:00 and a Mass of Christian burial at St. Cecilia Church, 70 Church St., Rockaway at 10:00AM on Saturday January 5, 2019.

Inurnment will be held privately at St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Rockaway.
